Hui Hula – Under the direction of Kumu Hula Debra Leiolani Garcia, the main purpose of the group is to perpetuate the culture of Hawai’i and the art of hula (Hawaiian dance). Our Gracious Ladies classes are taught Friday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30pm. Haumana (students) are taught basic hula movements used in hula ‘auana (modern hula). The group does not participate competitions, shows, or other events unless approved by the Kumu. Membership is open to women that have at least 2 years of current hula experience and do not belong to any other hula halau (school).
